Hendersons Relish Chunked Beef & Potato Pie, Served with Yorkshire Pudding and Seasonal Vegetables, With Lashings of Hendersons Relish,
So I've tried to keep the cost to an absolute minimum, the Roasting Joint was both cheaper and I got an extra 500g of meat, compared to buying diced beef,
Total cost £11.50 for family of 6 people, that's £1.91 each,
Ingredients
1kg Roasting Joint
2.5kg Potatoes
1x Large white Onion
Hendersons Relish to taste
2x Beef Stock Pot's
1x tblsp Beef Bouillon,
2x Garlic Cloves Minced
½ tsp Thyme
½ tsp Marjoram
½ tsp Basil
½ tsp Oregano
Parsley (Garnish)
400ml IPA (optional)
Sea Salt, Cracked Black Pepper, (Plenty)
Puff Pastry 375g
1.5ltr Boiling water
Directions Beef
Start with a large pan of boiling water,
Chunk the Beef Joint and Onion, add them to the pan, add the herbs, garlic, salt, pepper, stock Pot's, Lashings of Hendersons, ipa optional, bring to a boil, then simmer with a lid on until the meat falls apart, add the beef boulon or gravy granules to thicken,
Directions Potatoes
Dice the potatoes small and boil until tender, almost fluffy, drain add salt pepper and Parsley, gently mix in the pan,
So add the beef to your Pot's 2 thirds full, top with the potatoes, cut the Puff Pastry to the size of your Pot's, top the pies with the Pastry, brush with Egg,
Remember to remove your Pastry from the fridge 20mins before use, so it reaches room temperature,
Cook in the oven at 200°C until the Pasty is Golden Brown,
I served this with Yorkshire Puddings Cabbage, Carrots, Peas,
