7 Layer Lasagna Italian Night (Probably my favourite dish)

Italian Night (Probably my favourite dish)

7 Layer Lasagna, Served with Pesto & Mozzarella Sourdough Flatbread.

Salt & Pepper Fries, and Deliciously Crunchy Rainbow Salad.

This was absolutely delicious 😋 It's definitely one of my favourite dishes.

I think the secret to a great Lasagna is to cook your pasta sheets first or buy fresh one's

It makes all the difference in my opinion.

Total cost £10.97 that's an amazing £2.74 per portion, and I made 4 Portions,

Considering the average cost of this for 4 Portions in a Restaurant would be £63.90 I think making it at home is great option if you are on a budget.

Ingredients

750g Minced Beef

300g Lasagna Sheets

500ml Béchamel Sauce

1 litre Garlic & Herb Passata or Bolognese Sauce.

400g Chopped Italian Tomatoes (optional)

150g Rainbow Salad

10 inch Sourdough

50g Mozzarella

Cherry tomatoes a handful

2 x tblsp Green Pesto

150g Cheddar

Tomato Puree

1 x Onion,

1 x tblsp Sugar

Salt to taste

1 x tblsp Basil

2 x tblsp Garlic Purée

1 x tblsp Dried Basil

1 x tspn Dried Oregano

Ground Black Pepper to taste

1 x tspn Dried Rosemary

Directions

Fry your mince until it crumbles in a little olive oil and a tblsp of Garlic purée. One cooked add your herbs stir to combine.

Now add your Tomato sauce and simmer for 20mins,

Add pasta sheets to salted boiling water one at a time to prevent them from sticking together.

Now simply Layer your Lasagna into as many layers as your heart desires.

I aim for a layer of Béchamel Sauce in the middle then a thick one on top.

Cover with Béchamel Sauce and top with Cheddar and a Sprinkle of Parsley.

Place in a preheated oven at 200ºC for around 40mins until it's golden brown and Bubbling.

Leave to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Enjoy

Happy Cooking folks 😋
